When Emily's Mom says "Emily,
it's time!" Emily doesn't know what time it is. Is it time
for a party? soccer? ballet? ice-skating? Which shoes should
Emily wear? Or maybe, Emily doesn't need any shoes at all!

Author's Note: When I was very
young, I loved to draw shoes. One of my best drawings in the
first grade was of my Mom's shoes. Those early drawings became
inspiration for Emily's Shoes. And of course, Emily's
dog is my yellow Labrador Phoebe!
